BMFA Insurance
We would recommend that all drone pilots are insured at all times to protect themselves against potentially very large costs in the event of an accident. Furthermore, it is a requirement for all candidates to be insured before undertaking their flight test.
For those candidates who do not yet wish to insure themselves for aerial work the BMFA (British Model Flying Association) are able to supply a cost effective solution.

It is currently £32/yr for the basic membership plus £75 for the DDD Insurance extension.
Typical premium for commercial drone insurance through e.g.. Coverdrone/John Heath starts at about £600.
